A Bernedoodle is a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. They combine the gentle, loyal nature of the Bernese with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Poodle.

Yes, they are! Bernedoodles tend to be patient, loving, and eager to please; which makes them wonderful companions for kids and adults alike. They’re social dogs that thrive on interaction and love being part of the family.

It depends on the generation and size of the Poodle parent. We raise Mini, Micro Mini, Medium, and Standard Bernedoodles. Minis average 20–35 lbs, Mediums 35–50 lbs, and Standards 60–90 lbs. We’ll walk you through size expectations based on your specific pup’s parents before you bring them home.

While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, Bernedoodles are a great option for allergy-sensitive homes. Their Poodle genes reduce dander and shedding. That said, coat type varies, so we always recommend spending time with one before committing, especially if allergies are a concern.

They’re an active breed, but not hyper. A daily walk, some backyard play, and a bit of mental stimulation usually keep them happy. Standard sizes may need more physical activity, while Mini Bernedoodles adapt well to smaller living spaces with consistent routines.

Loyal, intelligent, goofy, and affectionate. Most Bernedoodles love being near their people, whether that means playing outside or lounging on the couch. They’re social by nature and do best in homes where they’re treated as part of the family.

Like most Doodle breeds, Bernedoodles need regular grooming to stay healthy and comfortable. Expect to brush them several times a week and schedule professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. Coat types can range from wavy to curly, and we’ll guide you on how to care for your specific pup’s coat.
